Koldre

Koldre is Yiddish for blanket.

Blanket has so many meanings and connotations. It is a soft piece of fabric to wrap around oneself for warmth. It’s a covering or layer, like a new blanket of snow, that conceals something within or underneath. It is also a comprehensive or all encompassing statement. Blanket connotes warmth and breadth and comfort…a protective, expansive layer.

All those meanings and emotions evoked by the word ‘blanket’ are why I chose to name my blog ‘Koldre.’ I like to crochet and quilt and I hope the things I make bring warmth and comfort and a layer of protection. So if there is room in the world wide web for one more craft blogger, here I am.
